Paul J. Leavitt, M.D.
Dr. Paul Leavitt is well regarded in Sumner County and Middle Tennessee as an established and highly skilled primary care physician. He was born in Detroit and raised in Northville, Michigan but considers himself an honorary Southerner. Dr. Leavitt knew from an early age that he was meant to be a family doctor. His primary desire to help people along with his love of all things health care, medicine and science made him well suited for this mission. After completing his medical residency in Family Medicine at Michigan State University and its affiliated Covenant and Synergy Cooperative Hospitals, Dr. Leavitt moved to Nashville and has not missed the snow one bit.
Dr. Leavitt is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians. He has an interest in Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine and has completed extensive studies in both. Dr. Leavitt earned his Professional Brain Health Certification from Amen University, founded by Dr. Daniel Amen, a leader in Brain Health.
Dr. Leavitt has earned numerous accolades for his quality and patient centered care including being named one of the Top Ten Doctors in Tennessee by Vitals. He has been recognized with Patient Care Awards, Most Compassionate Doctor Awards and was honored to be chosen Best Physician in Sumner County.
Continual learning is a personal passion for Dr. Leavitt. He enjoys staying informed about the latest in Medicine and Wellness so he can continue to better serve his patients. Dr. Leavitt also enjoys teaching other physicians and health care providers and has special medical interests in geriatrics, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. He is the founding member of Leavitt Family Medicine and has served as a past Chief of Family Medicine at Hendersonville Medical Center.
Dr. Leavitt loves the people of Middle Tennessee and is honored to call Sumner County home. He is a member of the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys supporting senior groups, non-profit organizations, churches, civic groups, charities, schools and businesses in our area. Dr. Leavitt was a founding board member of Grace Place Ministry and continues to support this wonderful organization. He is also on the board of Holidayfest, an organization which supports numerous Sumner County non-profit organizations.
Outside of the clinic, you will probably find Dr. Leavitt playing guitar, sculpting, painting, learning about Biblical studies and history and cheering on his favorite teams—the Nashville Predators, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions. He is also an avid fan of F1 (Formula1) Racing. Dr. Leavitt lives in Hendersonville with his wife Heather and enjoys life with his family exploring all of the wonderful things the Nashville area has to offer.
